Portable kiln for ceramic firing in microwaves
Introducing the 2C plus Capsule, specially designed for stoneware lovers. With it, you can transform a conventional microwave into a ceramic kiln. Ideal for artists, entrepreneurs, and studios seeking efficiency without compromising technical finishing quality.
Optimize your production times thanks to firing efficiency and speed:
- Approximate firing times: 110-120 minutes for 1200°C (2192°F) stoneware.
- Maximum working temperature: 1200°C (2192°F).
- Process versatility: Suitable for bisque, glaze, single-firing (monocuisson), and third-fire (lustres and decals). Also suitable for GLASS FUSING.
- Useful space:12 cm (4.7") diameter and 10 cm (3.9") height.
Note: We recommend that pieces do not exceed 11.5 cm (4.5") in diameter and 9.5 cm (3.7") in height to avoid contact with internal walls.
Each unit is delivered as a comprehensive working system:
1. Refractory Capsule.
2. Thermal Protection: Reinforced leather gloves and 29 cm (11.4") scissor tongs.
3. Multi-level Loading System: Kit of 3 batts (shelves) and kiln posts (2, 3, and 5 cm) to maximize internal space.
4. Maintenance Supplies: Ceramic fiber paper for base protection.
5. Educational Resources: Printed instruction manual, 30-minute video tutorial, and calibration samples to fine-tune firing times according to your specific microwave.
6. After-sales Support: Personalized advisory to ensure excellent results.
Our capsule guarantees results comparable to traditional low-temperature firing:
Optimal Maturation: Excellent formation of the intermediate layer between clay body and glaze, preventing crazing due to thermal expansion.
Food Safety: Resulting pieces are food-safe (subject to the use of food-safe glazes and proper ceramic processing).
Compatibility: Consistent results with engobes, pigments, oxides, and glazes (transparent and white).
In high-temperature firings, variations in tones of certain glazes and clay bodies may occasionally occur.
Technical Note 1: Due to the nature of fast firing, slow-maturing glazes (matte or crystalline) may show variations in finish. The same applies to raw glazes and high-temperature glazes.
Exclusive use: It is recommended to designate a microwave solely for ceramic use due to the volatility of certain chemical components in glazes.
Nature of the process: This technique remains experimental; results may vary depending on the load configuration and the microwave model used.
Dispatch: One week following purchase confirmation.
